towerRenovations are underway on the hotel! Workers donned Hasmat suits yesterday to start peeling  the asbestos shingles from the building.  Director of Purchasing and Human Resources Wanda Neal says the workers are already halfway around the building.

While this is taking place, the office staff has moved from the hotel to Founders Hall.  “Although we are experiencing indigestion over the asbestos situation, it’s business as usual,” she said.

As soon as the asbestos is gone, Bonclarken’s office staff will move back to the hotel.  But for now they are in the Jean White room.  Neal estimates they will only be in their temporary quarters for a few days and are accepting phone calls.

Personally, Neal says she is excited about the renovation.  “The hotel is the focal point of Bonclarken and to preserve the integrity of the building is so important to the denomination.  We appreciate the people who made donations to this project.”
