CLOVER – James Meek Dickson, 89, of 106 Marietta Street, died Friday, March 16, 2012, at home.

A memorial service was held Sunday, March 18, 2012, at Clover ARP Church, with Rev. Evan English officiating.

Mr. Dickson was born Jan. 3, 1923, in Clover to the late Wade Hampton and Minnie Walker Dickson. He was a graduate of Clover High School, University of Maryland and George Washington Law School. Mr. Dickson was a World War II Army veteran. He practiced law in Clover for 60+ years, previously serving as the attorney for The Town of Clover and the Clover School District. He also served as deacon and elder in the Clover ARP Church and sang in the choir; served on the Board of Trustees of Erskine College; served as Moderator of Synod (Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church) and was involved in worldwide evangelism.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Macie D. Turner, Gay D. Jackson, Ethel D. Gardner, Mary D. Grissom and Mabel D. Boyd; and a brother, Andral Dickson.

Survivors are his wife of 64 years, Elmina Faulkner Dickson of the home; daughters, Gail Dickson Clinton, (Andy) and Robin Dickson Rowell (Gilbert), both of Clover; grandchildren, Lee Clinton (Robin), Garrison Clinton (Shelton), Jamie Clinton (Abbey), Ruth Rowell and Rebekah R. Reynolds (Cameron); and great-grandchildren, Palmer Clinton, Ella Clinton and Drew Clinton.
