On Sunday afternoon, November 13, 2022 a Commission of Northeast Presbytery installed the Rev. Kwang Sun Kim as the new Senior Pastor of the Hyo Shin Bible Presbyterian Church, ARPC, which is located in Flushing, New York City, New York for Rev. Kim.
Rev. Kwang Sun Kim was received by Northeast Presbytery at its October, 2022 meeting upon transfer from the Dongseoul Presbytery, Presbyterian Church in Korea. Previously Rev. Kim was serving as Associate Pastor of Light of Love Mission Church in Pasadena, California.
A special participant in the Installation Service was the Rev. Junk Kyu Kim, father of Rev. Kwang Sun Kim. Rev. Junk Kyu Kim traveled from South Korea to preach the Installation Sermon for his son. Other participants included the Rev. Young Suu Park, Pastor of Beautiful Disciples Church, ARPC, Douglaston, NY who read the Scripture Lesson for the Installation Service, the Rev. Jack Van Dyk, Moderator of Northeast Presbytery who gave the Charge of Installation to Rev. Kwang Sun Kim, the Rev. Hong Suk Kim, Senior Pastor of the Joyful Church of New York, ARPC, who led in prayer for Rev. Kim, the Rev. Dong Ik Hwang, Pastor of the New Vision Church, ARPC, who gave a Congratulatory Message, and the Rev. Joshua Kitchen, Vice-Moderator of Northeast Presbytery, who presented a Congratulatory Plaque of Installation to the Rev. Kwang Sun Kim. The Rev. Dr. Ji Kag Bang, Pastor Emeritus of Hyo Shin Church as well the Session of Ruling Elders of Hyo Shin Church were present to endorse the Installation of the Rev. Kwang Sun Kim.
