On a beautiful day in October, Catawba Presbytery opened the doors of The Old Brick Church for a Sunday afternoon service. About 175 folks joined the service including the choir from Centennial ARP Church.
Dr. Barry Dagenhart opened the service. Dr. Mark Ross brought the history of the ARP denomination including the history of the church. “The Old Brick Church is the mother church of the ARP,” Ross said.
Rev. James McManus, lead the service on “A Foundation of Unity”. He started by saying “how humbling it was to be in the pulpit with so much history.” McManus has been an ARP for seven years. He said the gospel is not just for those with the right heritage. “We all need the good news.”
All attending were invited to wander the grounds to check out the cemetary and the rest of the church. Catawba Presbytery hosts a service every three years. Be sure to join the next time to catch up on your history as an ARP.
